Am I the only one who can't watch this movie?

Since I was 4 years old, I couldn't watch the movie, "E.T. the
Extra-Terrestrial." It's TERRIFIED me. The character looks, sounds,
and moves in this manner that has never failed to disgust me, and
growing up, hearing his name would make me cringe and panic. I suppose
it's the eerie, earthy nature of stop-motion or puppetry in films to
achieve realism, but the look/sound of the character always upset
me...and I can't get over it.

I saw, "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" and had a similar experience
with Jabba the Hut...something I did get over, but Audrey II from
"Little Shop of Horrors" did not fail to freak me out either.

Generally I'm good with horror films, and although non of these movies
have the connotation of bloody, gory, horror, really, the
science-fiction aspect just disturbs me.

Have any of you felt the same way?
